Bat Quieted in Final Games...

Though I started out promising (3 for 6), I sported a lack luster 0 for 10 in the last 3 games of regular season play. Despite offensive woes, I was at least able to pic up my defense. For the record, the Free Agents ended regular season play 1-4. The funny thing is that EVERY team makes it to playoff barring no regular season forfeit. Playoffs here we come...

and the winner is...

The majority has spoken. "Say Anything" will premiere on Colin and Gary's patio tomorrow evening.

Colin will be grilling pre-movie if you are interested. Show up at around 7 PM if down for BBQ.

Show starts promptly at 9 PM. Make sure to pack a jacket (just in case). Ice cream, popcorn, and cookies are on the menu. Feel free to add to it.

So...I know how many people voted, 29, but, I'm not sure of exactly who is who...plus some people have been asking me. If you could leave a comment on this post of your status that would be great!

See you here!

Hey kids, how about a jog around the playground....ten thousand times!

From bizarro newsland: my recent Runner's World magazine features an article about a boy, Budhia Singh, from India who ran 40 miles when he was 4 years old. Alternate Source Here. He's been dubbed the 4 year old Forrest Gump while others claim his coach is committing child abuse. Looking for other sources of this story, I stumbled across an update: His trainer was arrested for training torture. Source Here. This whole thing is both fascinating and disturbing...

Free Agents Notch First When with 'Big D'

Despite my 0 for 4 efforts, we were able to pull of a win 5-2. I'm just glad I didn't butterfinger the ball at 2B and RF during defense. Back to the cages...

From Gary's Music Project Vault...

Here is a 10 minute clip from a Battle of the Bands back in 2003 that took place in Davis, CA. This was during the hayday of a college band I played in called "The List. This angsty alternative group spanned from 2001-2004. The band consisted of 4 UC Davis undergrads at the time (including me).

Much of this clip is unfortunately distorted and/or inaudible. I apologize. In any event, enjoy. Oh yea, this is before I had any inclination about becoming an audiologist. I admit, I wasn't wearing ear plugs for this. For Shame!

Here is a link to the original, but obviously now defunct band website

How to do you spell deflating loss?

How about losing game 2 of Men's IM Softball 31-12. Geez. At least I went 2 for 2. I'm working on flattening my swing out and watching the rotation of the ball as it comes in. It seemed to work today. I missed 3 catchable balls today playing D. THAT I'm kicking myself for. I'll definitely shag some balls on the off days. Until next week...

July 4th 2008 Festivities

Jaime's East Lake Apartment (Seattle, WA) has an amazing view overlooking Lake Union (downtown Seattle area) and it's surroundings. It made for the most picturesque 4th I've ever experienced. Good times.

Dream: Brando, Broken Glasses, Vampires, and X-Mas

At times, much more interesting than my regular life, are my incredible lucid dreams. I'm going to start 'dream blogging'. Feel free to give me your 2 cents about them. Some of them are totally off the wall. Like last night:

For some reason an aged Marlon Brando had taken my recently new prescription glasses and smashed them! Upon seeing this, a person (whom I can't remember) poured boiling water on Brando's face and whacked him up side the head with a cleaver. At that moment I realized I needed to buy Christmas gifts for friend's and family. All of a sudden I am in Border's looking for last minute gifts. As the store is closing I realize I need to kill some vampires that are residing in a cathedral church in some city downtown. I'm floating over the church. Touch down. Enter.

Lincecum on Cover of SI for 7/7/08

Tim Lincecum graces this week's Sports Illustrated cover. Lincecum, a former UW Huskie, is shown here modeling his unorthodox delivery: he flashes his jersey number home and uncorks his body whipping his rubber arm violently around his body. The result? It's half deception and half moving flame. Don't let his boyish looks and wirery frame fool you. 'The Freak" has got some most outstanding strikeout stuff.

Gary Goes Yard...and Yard Again

Gary crushes two mammoth balls from both sides of the dish in regular season backyard wiffleball game. Struggling starter Derek continues long ball woes. Hi-light from Summer 2007 play.

UW IM Men's Softball Summer '08

I'm playing softball again this quarter. It's through UW's IM sports. Competition is kinda high since it's an all men's league. I signed up to play on the free agent team which plays every Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Today was our first match. Unfortunately we lost the slugfest 16-13. If you interested in my stats as the season goes pay attention to the tab on the side of my blog - I pretty much keep track for my own sake. BTW, I've got two fat rasberries on my right knee from sliding today.
