Another Guilty Pleasure

I can't get enough of Justin Timberlake's HBO FutureSex/LoveShow concert from Madison Square Gardens in '07. Notice his blue in-ear monitors? That could be me - making earmolds for the stars. Ha! Hmm...

Camera Phone Randomness: Seattle to Woodenville (then back again) Bike Ride

Today Katie, Marc, and Eric introduced me to the world of recreational biking. Via the Burke-Gilman trail (which runs alongside Lake Washington) we peddled to the Red Hook Brewery in Woodenville, WA. Roughly speaking, the distance was 17 miles one way. No doubt, we arrived hungry. Chowed down on food and drank some beer.

Given the fact that I haven't rode a bike in about 2 years, the ride was overall positive. The ride featured sun, rain, cold wind, and hail - extreme biking. Extreme!

I'll admit, my bike (Eric's old bike) is in desperate need of some updated parts! In terms of the seat, I may have been sitting on a wooden block! *My but hurts as I type*

Apparently, to be part of the club, I need to buy spandex before our next bike outing...sexy!

Camera Phone Randomness: Cookin' Steaks! & Watchin' Horror?

Yesterday night Colin, Chad and I chillaxed by BBQing steaks* and watching the "Wicker Man" remake featuring Nick Cage. Colin, once again, worked his magic with the grill . The movie attempts at horror were nothing but humorous. Eh, a good "bad" cat-scare flick makes for plentiful opportunities to add lib. Check out Colin's blog for a more in-depth movie critique.

*Check out the extreme freezer burn on my 9-month old 'strip steak re: Colin's fresh 'strip steaks!

Green Lake Run 3/29

Logged in miles...again. Didn't beat my last run of the same distance from a week ago. I blame excessive eating and drinking during "Spring Break." Still, miles are miles.

Miles: 12.4

Time: 1:39:59

Out and About: Seattle Area

Yesterday, my friend/colleague Kate celebrated her 28th "golden" birthday. About 20 of us went out to eat at Anthony's Restaurant on Pier 66. "Drunk" Marc complained that his "Chicken Pot Pie" tasted a little fishy - that's because he ordered the "Salmon Pot Pie!" Duh! Hehe. I really enjoyed my "Pan-Fried Oysters" served with a "Pickled Ginger Cabbage Salad."

Later that night, checked out Mike (friend) and Diana's (friend/colleague) engagement party. Enjoyed the chocolate fondue, wii, and wine. Aren't they the cutest couple? Congrats!!! Di is sporting some "bling bling" now.

Yep, Another Guilty Pleasure

Sappy emo rock at it's best. A random user's 'tube clip montage of Lost's Desmond and Penny* to Midnight Hour's song "Running Away."

*If you're not up-to-date on lost episode, you may not makes sense of all the clips

Gym 3/27

Yesterday jogged 5 miles on the 'mill. Followed up with core strength exercises. Ugh, definitely felt the burn from excessive eating the last couple of days. Back to training!

Camera Phone Randomness: Back in San Francisco - Part II

Roth and I kept our tradition alive by: H & M shopping in Walnut Creek followed my bomb-ass cheap Chinese food down the street - I think this is our 3rd doing it. Spent the remainder of my California adventure chillaxing. Had Pho before my flight back to Seattle.

Camera Phone Randomness: Back in San Francisco - Part I

Back in "The City." BiBimBaped it. Coit Towered it. Marina biked it. Rothed it.

Camera Phone Randomness: Back in Santa Rosa

I got a little nostalgic coming back to Santa Rosa (SR). I'm home only ~2 times a year. Spent time with the family and took some much needed family photos. Ate, ate and ate. Definitely left satiated.

Camera Phone Randomness: WA to CA

Flew the heck out of Seattle for warmer Spring-Break-Like weather of Northern California. Mixed things up and opted to fly Virgin America; they just started flights from Seattle to San Francisco. I got a kick out of the in-flight amenities. Each chair features a touch-screen "Red" multimedia interface that does amongst other things: 1) streams radio 2) broadcasts 30 TV channels 3) offers a sizable catalog of free music to listen to 4) shows your current position in the air via google maps 5) includes an array of video games -- you can play the original Doom 5) food and drinks ready to order via credit card swipe. Note: you can use "Red" even during take offs and landings! Woot! As an added charm, techno music bumped while I used the bathroom in mid-flight. Check it out next time you fly - be ready for full sensory stimulation. I had no need to touch my usual in-flight toys (iPod and magazines). The price is just the same as Alaskan or Southwest (~$80).

Haha I kept thinking of this video on the plane:

Camera Phone Randomness: More More Bro in Town

It's hard to squeeze in blog time when you're basking in California sun. Anywho, looking back at the last full day in Seattle for my bro, we did a couple of notable things. The days started with a 1 lap jog around Green Lake. Lunch included Jaliscos down on Roosevelt -- I see this place everything time I ride the bus home from school so I caved in and had to try it out -- Es muy bien! No Seattle trip is complete without taking a gander at the Locks in Ballard. Just like last time, I spotted no fish swimming up the ladder. Eh, however, take a look at this random clip on youtube. We chillaxed rest of the day. The two seafood chimichangas with white sauce I inhaled for lunch gave me a mexican food coma. Needless to say, I didn't end up eating a light dinner until 11 PM.

Camera Phone Randomness: More of Bro in Town

Nothing says a good start to pre-softball drills like getting a prickly weed splinter before leaving to play catch. Needless to say, a detour to Walgreens occurred to pick a pair of tweezers to remove the foot nuisance - literally, I limped from aisle to aisle looking for the darn thing! Anywho, quickly removed it in the parking lot. From there, we drove to Dahl park down the road. Ah, feels great to crank the arm up and rip some line drives.

Yesterday included more Seattle-ing. Strolled along Pier 57 and successfully filled our fish and chips craving. To put any sizable dent in the fried calories consumed, a hike was in order. While exploring Discovery Park - the beach looked oddly familiar. Then it occurred me - early 90s super grunge project Temple of the Dog filmed parts of their hit song "Hunger Strike" at this particular beach (see below)! The light house gave it away. One of my fav songs that definitely makes the cut to my grunge playlist.

For dinner, we went to I Love Sushi - yum, another food coma acomplished!
